On Saturday 18th January 2025 David Lumb (ex ESA) will explain about the PLATO mission. The Planetary Transits and Oscillations of stars is a mission to find and study extrasolar systems. This mission is due to launch in 2024, and all will be explained by David.

The talk will be held at the Seething Observatory

The first talk will start at 7:30 pm, the second at 8:30 pm and if there is sufficient interest we will add a third talk at 9:30 pm

The observatory facilities will be open, and assuming the weather permits telescopes will be pointing into the nigh sky.

Seats for the 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm talks can be purchased at £4 for an adult and £3  for under 16.

We will only add a 9:30 pm talk if the earlier events fill up.
